Crescent Credit Union - The Great Feeling of Better Banking.

Privacy Policy

At Crescent Credit Union, we value and respect the trust placed in us by our members.  For that reason, we want you to know how we deal with customer information and privacy.  That discussion is followed by our formal Policy on the Privacy of Customer Financial Information.

Safeguarding information in the age of technology presents new challenges for all of us.  At Crescent Credit Union, your trust is our greatest asset.  We have adopted strong privacy protection guidelines to ensure that any private financial information you share with us is protected and held in the strictest confidence.  Our employees are trained to respect the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of member information.  We use appropriate security procedures designed to help prevent unauthorized access to member information.  Confidentiality and the preservation of your trust is the key to our mission.

We often use member information to provide you with better, more efficient service.  Sharing information internally or with our business partners enables us to better understand our members’ financial needs, allowing us to provide the best possible products and services at reasonable prices.  Sharing information about our members is also necessary to deliver everyday conveniences, such as ATM access and streamlined member service.

Once you agree to establish an account relationship with us, or apply for credit, we collect nonpublic, personal information about you from some or all of the following areas:

  • Information we receive from you on applications and other forms;
  • Information about your transactions with us or others; and
  • Information we receive from consumer reporting agencies.

The collection of this information, often necessary to properly evaluate, maintain and service your account, may occur at various times while you have an account relationship with us.  We make every effort to maintain accurate and complete member information.  If you believe that the information we maintain about you is inaccurate, please write to us and explain the nature of your concern.  We will investigate the issue; take appropriate steps according to prevailing practices and applicable regulations, and will report to you the outcome of our investigation.

For the reasons outlined earlier, we may disclose all of the information that we collect, as described above.

We may disclose information with companies that are able to extend special offers we feel might be of value to you.  These companies may be financial service providers (such as insurance companies) or they may be non-financial companies (such as publishers or direct marketing companies).  These offers are typically for products and services that you might not otherwise hear about.  The information that we may provide them comes from the sources described above and might include your name, address and phone number.

We may also disclose information to companies that perform operational services related to your account, or marketing services for us.  Law permits the sharing of information with these types of companies.  Such a company might include a financial company with which we have a joint marketing agreement.  This information also comes from the sources described above and might include your name, address and phone number.

Finally, we provide information about you to companies as permitted by law.  These companies may include credit reporting agencies and companies, which provide services, related to your account.

If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and practices described in this notice.

If you prefer that we did not discuss nonpublic personal information about you to non-affiliated third parties, with respect to this loan or account, you may opt out of those disclosures.  That is, you may direct us not to make those disclosures (other than disclosures permitted or required by law).  If you wish to opt out of disclosures to non-affiliated third parties, you may:
